Validation of the Work Values Inventory of Secondary School Students

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to construct a reliable and valid questionnaires based on the concept of career value structure by considering the developmental characteristics of secondary school students. This study is to provide basic data for career counseling and collage career counseling for middle and high school students. In order to serve the purpose of this study and answer the questions, a concept of construct was selected by analyzing previous researches and existing work values inventory. The questionnaires were created by examining the suitability of the concept. And to examine the reliability and validity of the developed items, a total of 988 secondary school students were surveyed. Exploratory factor analysis and the conclusions obtained by using SPSS 18.0 statistical processing program are as follows: First, a minimum of 5 items with 10 items of sub-factors based on the concept of career values were needed, however, items 122 and 124 were excluded because they were below factor loadings .30. Second, the reliability coefficient of the factors surveyed in the job value test was over .80, which is satisfactory. The total reliability of the factors was increased when items 81, 106, 114, 13, and 16 were removed, respectively. The results of this research can be used when studying the effects of career counseling programs such as art therapy, collage, and art therapy on the change of work values ??of secondary school students.
